| Reading and writing in late modernity is constantly challenged in the context of expanding digital media and cultural heterogenity. Digitalization has meant the hybridization of different media forms in a process of remediation. This phenomenon might be called "hypertextuality". This concept used as an analytical and interpretetive category can give new insights on what can be called "mediacy". The relationship between mediacy and hypertextuality will be elaborated theoretically and will be exemplified with reference to media usage (mobile phones, websites, DVD) among youth. | |
