The article is a summary of the projekt Childhood in multiple contexts.The project was focused on five separate but interconnected social rooms; these are the school, friends, sport, and the family. In addition the boundaries for activities within and for the transgressions between rooms were set in the overarching social room of politics. The starting point for the project was the observation that childhood currently is characterised by an increase of contexts. There is an increase in the number of involved actors as well as the crossing over the borders between different social rooms. Also, schools function more than ever as the institution in which normality and defiance are defined which esepcially is discussed in this article.
