    Abstract [en]

    Problem: Elderly immigrants are a growing group in our society. Elderly immigrate to Sweden for different reason like war, love, and economic conditions or to be near their families. Elderly immigrants have different and special experiences we find it both relevant and interesting to explore how elderly immigrants see their integration into society. The aim: this study is how elderly immigrants see their integration in the community and how involved they are. Method: the method in this study is selected interviews. A total of seven elderly immigrants have been interviewed. Result: some of the respondents feel integrated and involved in the community while others respondents feel left out and some feel isolated. Theories which is connected to the empirical data is communication and the salutogenesis perspective. Keywords: Elderly immigrants, integration, social network
