English abstract
Today many young Muslims have difficulties fo find a marriage partner because the traditional ways to find a partner are no longer accepted among the young and educated Muslims. The article deals with different marriage strategies among young Muslims in Europe. The terms forced, arranged and love marriage are elaborated. The changing importance of the factors for choosing a partner such as family status, wealth (and education) and love in Muslim marriages are discussed. The article calls for a rethinking of fiqh, the Islamic jurisprudence, for helping young Muslims to find a partner.

Idag har många unga utbildade muslimer svårigheter att hitta en äktenskapspartner eftersom de inte längre accepterar de traditionella sätten att finna en partner. Artikeln diskuterar olika äktenskapsstrategier bland unga muslimer i Europa. Termerna tvångs-, arrangerade och kärelksäktenskap utreds. Den förändrade faktorerna för att välja en partner såsom familjestatus, ekonomiskt välstånd (och utbildning) och kärlek i muslimska äktenskap diskuteras. Artikeln menar att den islamiska juridiken, fiqh, borde ändras för att hjälpa unga muslimer att finna en partner.
